In Firefox versions prior to version 2.0 was there ever a plugin that allowed you to have a small close gadget on the individual tabs to allow you to close them quickly and easily in the same way you can with version 2.0?

Jason.

TabX?

You mean this? https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1486/

Umm, I just middle-mouse on tabs to close them. No plugin required.

Tab Mix Plus?

Yup, but he asked:

...So I thought he WANTS the "close" button. I'm personally wondering why he even asks that, why not just use the latest version [added features and security]?

Thanks for the links guys. Mustang, I do use version 2.0 it was just bugging me as I remember seeing the feature added via a plugin but couldn`t find it. You know what it`s like when these tiny things niggle away at you ;)

While we're on the firefox 2.0 extensions subject, does anyone know of one that allows you to rename a tab (with the title of your choice, there's already one that randomizes them (not really useful unless you surf pr0n)).

Ideally, just by right-clicking it and choosing Rename Tab...

Tab Mix Plus. ;o)

Yan: Not bad, but not *quite* there, I need to be able to keep the new name even when reloading (I work with several tabs open at once from the same site so they all say the same thing in each). (thanks though, it does have some nice features).
