ShareIt? Plimus? BMT? Other?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/ShareIt? Plimus? BMT? Other?

Hello,

Anybody have any experiences (good/bad) with the above, or similar companies?

Not really interested in what your mate's mum's half-cousin's hairdresser heard down the chippy. Really after fact not hearsay.

Ta! :)

[edit] I'm after experiences with SELLING, not buying. :)

* bought visual blitz, blitmax and some software that creates 32 virtual midi devices through ShareIt.

Lost blitzmax money once, prolly because some schweinhund delivery man stole the envelope with money. Other than that.. no issues.

Um, thx - didn't make it clear enough tho, will edit my post ;)

How much are ShareIt charging now? They used to charge almost double what Plimus and BMT want, but I think I read they've dropped their prices?

For me, the best thing about Plimus is that they're very flexible. If you want something changed, ask, and they do it. For example, those annoying "We're just going to charge you $5 more than we said we were for download insurance, please uncheck this tiny box ( if you can even read this microtext ) if for some bizarre reason you don't want to pay $5 for something you're already getting from the author for free" boxes that all the services are pushing now? I emailed Plimus and said, actually, I don't want those on mine. So they removed them. Took about six hours.

Didn't you have an 'experience' with BMT or Shareit or something?

BMTmicro is great! join them and you won't regret it I am using them for www.ancientsoft.com (no bad experience, very helpful and supportive)
Plimus is great too, I am using them for www.osakit.com and I did not have any problem with them except a OSAKit affiliate did not get the credit for an order although I can see it in the referral report!.

I had an "experience" with BTM, yeah. Back when I was starting out, I uploaded my game to them, and set the control panel for them to deliver the game when it was purchased. Then a few weeks went by and they sent me an email demanding to know why I hadn't been delivering manually. They attached an email conversation from a customer, which indicated that they had lied to him. They told the customer that it was my fault, that I had set it to deliver manually, and they couldn't do anything about it.

I wasn't bothered about the mistake in losing the file. Anyone can make a mistake. I was bothered that when a mistake happened, their first instinct was to blame me without checking their facts. Not only that, but they blamed me in correspondence with a customer.

So I wouldn't go back to them, but plenty of people seem to like them, so I'm prepared to accept that my situation might have been a rare and unfortunate slip.

ShareIt is reliable and easy to use. They are introducing a new system called oneCommunity, which should make them very competitive as far as I can tell. 1$ + 4.9%, which unless they have some weird restrictions, seems like a pretty good deal for their services.

I haven't really looked into it yet, but I've been very happy with their services so far.

I've used ShareIt for my framework and processed a relatively large number of sales in Pound, Euros and mainly Dollars. However I'm switching to BMT Micro for my games cos they can generate Armadillo keys and have lower rates than ShareIt. BUT ShareIT are just starting a new 4.9% and $1 scheme which is very cheap...

Do any of these companies take care of salestax obligations for the seller as well, or do they still need to do that on their own?

Yeah both BMT and ShareIt collect VAT/Tax from based on the buyer's country and then pay it to their authorities so you just get a royalty payment without VAT/Tax on which is cool cos then you don't have to deal with it in your accounts (if you are VAT registered like me).

I use Plimus for ColdSteel and I couldn't love it more. It allows customers to pay by PayPal, and you also have the option to receive your monthly payments into your PayPal account.

Only for that reason, I think it is worth to use Plimus.
