Mark. Can you work on MiniB3D?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Mark. Can you work on MiniB3D?

It would be cool if you could help out the guys with MiniB3D. If you could apply your skills to it, we could possibly within a few months have an OpenGL, X-Platform, Blitz3D clone to tie us over untill Max3D is released.

You said that Max3D will be Opengl at first so why not get MiniB3D working to it's fullest so that we can have a 3D Engine to keep us busy untill Max3D is released.

Would this be a Bad Idea?

Agreed. This would keep lots of users happy until max3d arrives which I assume is still some way off and would be an especially nice Christmas pressie :)

Jason.

What do you mean "help out the guys with MiniB3D"? Do you
mean "Stop working on BMax/BMax3d and start redundantly
working on another engine"?

I dunno if I'd support that.

No!

Mark himself said that MiniB3D is a cool Engine although a little incomplete. If Mark could help out the guys to get the missing bits in MiniB3D working then we would basically have Blitz3D for Max, but opengl and X-Platform.

He does not need to stop working on Max3D. Mark stated that some parts of Max3D needed a rethink. I think he should take some time off from it while he rethinks the direction of Max3D and work to help out on MiniB3D.

Add a DX Driver on top of MiniB3D on Win32 is a cool idea.

Why waste Mark's precious time on minib3d when max3d is on the route? Why would you aim for a mini solution when you can have a maxed one?

Har har har. Good one.

I think Mark has enough to do at the moment without working on another 3d engine.

Yeah, let him finish Max3D - I originally bought BMax because I was waiting for the 3d part, so I'd really like to see it get finished.

Me too :)

I think also he should work on Max3D, but maybe he could help out by answering simple technical questions and give us some hints how to implement some things(AligntoVector eg.).
But else he should fully concentrate on Max3D and the improvement of BMax itself.

BTW: Mark already helped with MiniB3D (the UpdateNormal Method) and I think SimonH has also got some help from him.

I tend to agree with Steve that Mark has more than enough to do already. However, to revive a suggestion ( not mine ) I supported a long time ago and still support now, perhaps if B3D were open-sourced for registered owners, it would allow people to dig around and find it for themselves. Not an ideal option, perhaps, but one that would permit Mark to help without using any of his own time. For such a purpose as this, it wouldn't even need to compile so no need to fiddle with it, and FMod-related bits could probably be removed wholesale is necessary.

Can't you just leave the poor man alone?
He'll work on stuff that he wants, end of story.

MARK.... i need a cup of tea mate, please stop farting around with the day job! ME ME ME! and its xmas?

This Xmas I predict we get squat. =]

I predict Mark will submit himself to an CA (Coders Anonymous) clinic, and get psychiatric treatment because he's hearing voices that try to make him do things.

.

lol

OK so if I do that... what does that mean??? I am not gonna take the little yellow pills... the voices tell me they are BAD!!! So no more little yellow pills...

What IS lithium anyway???

;)
