All,
now that I have a videocamera, it taked me just an half hour video production to make it full !
So I need data storage badly, but it should have these properties:
- fast
- either external or internal
- must be really easy to plug in a new HD without hassles like formatting or the like
- last but not least, cheap !
Suggestions ? Please indicate also brand and model.

External HardDrive is easier, but do cost money.
External -> firewire if you need speed. I just bought Lacie/Porsche 250GB and it was preformatted so no hassles there. I chose USB 2.0 model because of compatibility (laptop etc) knowing it would be slower. But it really was a plug-n-play operation to get it running and the drive itself cost under 100€. And it looks posh too! :)

You can get hard drives up to 750gb now. That coupled with the new blu-ray writers should give you enough space, and still allow the option of backup to DVD.
Obviously that's the high (and expensive) end of the spectrum. You haven't said how much hard drive space you currently have. I do a fair bit of video stuff myself and my 80gb drive is capable of managing a couple of one hour productions (just). I've recently bought a new Western Digital 200gb drive for £48 just to give me a bit more breathing space.
Mine is IDE but if you do serious video editing you should consider SATA for its speed.
Just bought a USB2 400GB freecom external drive. It contains a decent Samsung spinpoint drive and I'm happy with it. Also got good reviews and is decent value for money. A firewire or sata connection to the PC will probably give you faster access.
