3D Photo Gallery

I notice that someone has just offered a 3D virtual picture gallery on the the Blitz home page, which: a) locks if there are no pictures in the folder, b) MAVs if there are.
This sort of thing really annoys me, especially when people try to charge money for rubbish (I wish BR had time to test before adding a prod to their page).
So.... have a free one from me. Which does work.

Interesting. I've been making a virtual gallery too. For quite some time in fact, on and off. But mine is more like a real-world type gallery with white walls and wooden floors.

JoeGr showed me a WIP of his gallery - good stuff, and a different idea altogether.

It's interesting how all three of us approached the same idea completely differently. All good stuff. Yay - Blitz developers!

I don't have the time to bother with looking at these right now. But here is a free idea to anyone who might want to make it.

There is no reason you shouldn't be able to pick up and move photos with an avatar of somesort.. even if it is just a cursor. That way you can group your photos how you like visually and make little photomazes and whatever you want out of them.

And another idea. Give the user the option to re-size and tilt the photos, and then give them a few games they can play in their photo-built world. Then they could send it off to a friend with the same app and multiplayer or not, play the little photolevel as an interesting way to show off the photos.

could even have a 'mod community' spawn that use texture photos to make textured levels.

Figure on a basic FPS (better like a tag game) maybe a racing game ala mario-cart. and anything else that could be fun... Platformer?

Could be good for a few laughs, and is a fun way to share photos.... Would rock if you could build levels and export them as an exe you can give to friends and family as gifts.

Brownie points if you can make it easy for grandma to play tag with her grandkids over the internet. (could even select a photo as your avatar that auto-removes the background)

But just being about to arange the photos would be nice.. all that extra stuff is bonus and a mighty nice way to make a game with no content.... talk about user-created content, right?


PS: If anyone does anything like this and wants to give me some credit. I won't complain.. hahaha.
