I was thinking about buying a E6600 because of its 4MB L2 cache. While looking up a few reviews of them I came accross a benchmark and believe it or not, but the overlocked E6300 was well above it. It was sitting just above the E6700. Now the price difference between the E6300 and the E6600 is around $350 bucks, you can pick up the E6300 for about $300 all up. So I was thinking, just get the cheapest Core 2 Duo, and overclock the crap out of it. I mean, its a cheap CPU, so if it dies in a few years who cares. And by then you could get a X6800 for $150.
Also, what would you recommend for a good feature/priced motherboard. The Intel 975X bases chipsets are nice, but a little expensive. And what about Graphics cards, stick with nVidia, or jump to AMD/ATi/Whatever they are now?
