UK Domain Names - Where's best?

I need to register a number of .co.uk domain names. Where, if anywhere, is generally regarded as the best place to buy them?

I've used planetdomain.co.uk and 1&1 and had zero problems. Transferring domains was painless, as was configuring them.

Godaddy have (I've heard) had some good offers on which could save you some money.

Any idea why a .co.uk domain is £1.99 or £2.49 at some places, and £9.99 at others? They all appear to be for the same service (i.e. no hosting, which is what I want).

Bobby: I suspect some places advertise £1.99, but that ends up being £1.99 per year for 10 years.

Or, they may just have an offer on :)

£9.99 is what I would expect to pay, as it's a fairly standard amount as per the regulations etc.
