Need help with a slogan...
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Need help with a slogan...
Hi everyone!
I'm trying to figure out what a good slogan for my software label "Mutant Gene Software" might be. Recently I have mostly coded apps instead of games, so keep that in mind as well.
[Edit]
Please vote one of these three:
1. Mutant Gene Software - Applied Evolution
2. Mutant Gene Software - Resistant to Mediocrity
3. Mutant Gene Software - Imbued with Mutant Powers

It would be nice if you guys could give me a hand with this.
If you have any better ideas, please let me know?!?
Thanks in advance

Fun ones:

And now for something completely diffferent!
Creative Oddness (?!)
Serious ones:
Software Evolved (hmm this one sounds familiar)
Scientifically Approved
Evolving Applications (** my fav.)
Applied Evolution (I really like this too)
Science Applied Evolution
Just a few thoughts,
IPete2.
Evolution Evolved?
I really like "Applied Evolution" and "Explore Evolution", my new fav's... :)
What do the others think?
Mutant Gene Software - Nature and Nurture
Mutant Gene Software - Nature, Nurtured
Mutant Gene Software - Exceptional nature nurtured exceptionally
Mutant Gene Software - Resistant to Mediocracy
Mutant Gene Software - Darwins dream.
Mutant Gene Software - Code Evolved
Mutant Gene Software - Dive into the pool of possibility (a play on words w/ reference to gene pools)
Mutant Gene Software - Evolving towards Perfection

Mutant Gene Software - Abnormally Good
Mutant Gene Software - Imbued with Mutant Powers
"resistant to mediocrity", sounds good as well.
^^ is this phrase right? I'm no native speaker... :(
mediocrity is the right word, yeah. My bad. I guess using the wrong word when proclaiming yourself above mediocrity would be a Bad Thing. ;)
Indeed. ;)
I like this phrase as it is a bit funny and doesn't sound that technical at the same time.
Imbued with Mutant Powers
lol that one's great.
I'll just add in another
Applications Evolved.
IPete2.
Ok, I have edited the 1. post and started a final election.
I vote for number 1. :)
No 1

Thanks, updated results.
1 from me too.
Personally, I think the "Mutant" in the name conflicts with the word Applied. Mutations aren't really applied, they are more like freak accidents.
I don't know...I personally like the slogan
"Mutant Gene Software - Evolution Run Wild" or "Evolution Run Rampant" more than Applied Evolution - at least in this context. The Mutant Gene adds a certain playfulness to the name that is too sharply contrasted with the seriousness of "Applied Evolution"
I understand your concerns regarding the verb apply.
I would interpret the term "Applied Evolution" this way:
The applications and games made by Mutant Gene Software are the result of a "successful" mutation. The process of mutation itself may be uncontrolled, but the natural selection only takes the "best" solutions for the time.
Also the term sounds more professional than "Wild Rampage" e.g..
Number 1
or IPete2's
Mutant Gene Software: And now for something completely different!
:) just kidding...
#1

2.... Applied Evolution is impossible... or atleast an oxymoron..
One sounds the best but isn't logical. If it's mutant, it's not applied. It would have to be Engineered Gene Software - Applied Evolution and then all the anti-GM hippies will be basing on your door :-)
Genetic Engeneering isn't 'applied evolution' it isn't small changes over long periods.
People forget. genetic mutation was un-known or little-known to darwin. The thoery of evolution doesn't really account for mutation, it is based on the idea that the parent's genes are the cause of change, and in most cases it is.
Mutation accounts for the some of the great leaps. Such as Spines, and brains, and new limbs or lost limbs. Mutation is common, but in order for it to be passed on, the mutation must take place in a sex-cell, like an egg or sperm, or in a cell that produces those cells. Then that mutation has to be a good one, rather than a mutation that causes a defect that isn't useful. Or at least not a deficit. Scorpions for example. They used to have secondary claws, but those claws went away. Either over time, or in a mutation. Negative mutations that don't cause death can still be passed on, provided they are dominant.
Applied Evolution is impossible... With the possible exception of weaponized microbes, which are exposed to large numbers of toxins to bread microbes that withstand all the toxins.
However, it still doesn't apply to mutations.
I'm lost. Would "Explore Evolution" be better than?
As I don't want hippies in front of my door. :)
Mutant + Evolution is a bad combo.
this is why I went with 2. Because a mutant could be resistant to something.
Tho.. More often it becomes cancer and is resistant to therapy.
Mutant Gene Software - The X-Factor
Mutant Gene Software - Evolution Enhanced
Mutant Gene Software - Like goats that lactate spider silk.
MGS - The future of software
Thanks again everyone for the input!
