My biggest concern is that not too long ago my computer told me I had about 140GB of free space! I also wasn't aware I had 1GB of memory...and I built this machine.

That test is bollocks, says im in top 25% when i have one of the fastest gfx cards tested here so far.

How the hell can I be possibly be in the top 6% with my ancient setup? It doesn't make sense unless there aren't that many people with very modern machines who have tried this test.

I'm going to test again later cos I'm not convinced by it. I can understand some people with onboard sound cards getting not being in the top % but then Hujiklo comes in the top 6%! I suppose Ram, Graphics Card and Disk Space are playing a big part - which obviously they do - but I'm still not convinced by this test.

@telesto: If you're using Firefox 2.0, you can right-click on the link above and choose "open in IE tab." However, this only works if you actually have IE installed on your computer which you should have unless you ran one of those "get rid of IE from your system" utilities.

There must be a lot of people with low spec systems skewing the results..I fall in line with the above comments. I'm in top 15 % with these stats?

I don't think this test is too accurate. The numbers aren't adding up. From all the tests results and specs posted here by everyone, all the folks with the higher end systems are getting worse percentages than folks with the lower end systems....

What happend to pc market.? Thoe i payed 1200$ for it.

the only thing is that my orginal Gfx card Burned and i got a new equal from store. and 1 month ago i bought a new cpu fan so its now quieter than my laptop. it was a cheap cpucooling fan of 7$

This must mean that i will keep my system for another 2 yerars before concidering buy new one.

I find it a little odd to get a 4% rating with a 32-bit single core Athlon 2800+, and a Radeon 9600 Pro card.




Just be prepared to get the bill when your new computer causes their webserver to divide itself by zero in humiliation. It will probably fuse its internal circuitry because it deems itself not worthy to serve you.

I don't think these results are very consistent... Just comparing my machine with that of Shambler:

I am alledgedly in the top 4%, he's at 26%. yet:


1) We both have 1GB of RAM
2) We both run Windows XP
3) He has 10 times as much free diskspace
4) His CPU is marginally faster
5) He has twice as much video memory
6) His video card is three times faster than mine:

The GeForce 6800GT gets a rating of 10957 while my Radeon 9600 Pro gets a measly 3518.

This does not make a whole lot of sense.

No, my secondary PC get's only 'so-so' ratings, at 59%.

.hahahahah..I didnt know that my old crappy nVidia 5600FX is soo 'powerful' :)

And those benchmarks were from 2004, so it doesn't even include any of the cards released over the last two years. Meaning that it's even worse now, by comparison...

But seriously, Tom's Hardware has those massive video card benchmarks every year, and they can be a great help picking out a new video card.

Especially when you have several versions of a single card it can be hard to see which gives you the best price/performance return... 9600, 9600 XT, 9600 Pro. Is an XT better or worse than a Pro? Slightly faster according to the graphs, but you can't tell by name alone.
