Resident Evil Style Rendering

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Resident Evil Style Rendering

Hey guys,

I know this topic has come up about 1,000,000,000 times so I figured I would ask. Turns out I need to make a kids game that uses prerendered backgrounds with 3d charactors moving within them like Resident Evil. What's the best approach to doing this? Any ideas?

I guess this shold be in the Blitz 3d section

Yep, probably, but everything seems to slide into General Discussions lately, so who'll notice? ;)

There was a system for doing this. Some kind of library with a sample game. I think it was tied to 3ds Max for scene editing, and I can't remember if you're a Max'er or not.

Anyway, I think the guys who did it were these guys, but their site seems to be undergoing maintenance, so you might wanna drop Opcode an email ( admin at the domain of the site listed below )

There is a system for Blitz3d for exactly this, actually.

I forget exactly what it's called, but I think Blitz Backdrop...

Yep, that's the one I was referring to. I'm pretty sure that was the site at one point.

Here it is, in fact!

Edit:
Oh, duh!
(That's what I get for only reading half of someone's post: An embarrassing show of ignorance!)

Oh, well you found the evidence which is more than I did. At least now it's definitely the right guy.
