Not a bad interview; lots about EA.
No lame answers, which is always nice.

Some bad signs, though. It looks like EA is poised to milk Spore into oblivion.
Hopefully Maxis will make sure that doesn't happen; it's a horrible waste already that they're always pumping out those sequels / addons to The Sims.
Sounds like some optimism that it won't happen like that, but it all sounds a bit shady.

Knowing EA, they will milk it to death. I've been interested in this game, but given the recent crap EA has been pulling, I might skip on this one.

Thanks for reminding me, I was thinking just last night 'Oh yeh, whatever happenned to Spore, that was supposed to be out some time' and then promptly forgot to look into it whatsoever.

it's a horrible waste already that they're always pumping out those sequels / addons to The Sims.

How is that a horrible waste? The more the merrier I say. The Sims 1 with it's 8 expansion packs became quite a complicated beast... Sims 2 is on it's way nicely...

I do question how you're supposed to milk a game that provides all it's new content by means of stealing everyone else's creations? =]

I feel exactly the same way. I have a a personal boycott going on EA for screwing too much stuff up... But this is one game I will have to find a way to play regardless.

The Sims's expansions can be nice, but I would rather those talented people at Maxis use their skills to create really fresh ideas.

They can build all sorts of unique stuff like SimCity, Spore and The Sims, but they end up tied down with sequels and expansions to those titles for all eternity.
I suppose the number of SimCity remakes was their own doing, but all of those are pretty solid improvements from the last.

Knowing EA, there is a good chance that it is them encouraging Maxis to do it even more.
