Wii Shortage in Europe :(

Did anyone else who has preordered a Wii get an email yesterday about there being a stock shortage in Europe and thusly preorders would not be fulfield on the release date?

This news has depressed me greatly but I guess I kind of anticipated it.

Man that sucks. I didn't manage to get a pre-order in (I suck), but I might still end up with one before you. Hehe. They're coming out in December by you guys, right?

The only thing that is easing the wait for my Wii is trying to decide what games to get upfront with my very limited cash supply.

This is just play.com not getting a big allocation. There is no shortage.

I believe HMV are claiming they'll be able to honour any pre-orders taken before the end of November.

I've a friend who preordererd off of Play and he told me yesterday that they'd delayed his preorder.

Get it from GameStation- they say theyve got a ton and will be able to deliver.

I`m not sure what to do as the email I received from Play.com said that other retailers were going to be told the same thing shortly and that the Wii would not be freely available to buy in the shops until early next year.

This is a stinker. I really want one, guess may have to wait until Jan.

Cancel your Play order, and pick it up somewhere else. Game and GameStation have probably filled all their allocation by now; but as John says, places like HMV should still have some available.

Play are talking crap. They just got a low allocation but they don't want you to go elsewhere.

To be really sure go to the sort of shop people don't associate with consoles. Like currys, comet etc.

"Play.com is correct. We do not know exactly how many the manufacturer is going to release. There can be no guarantee that you will definitely get one. Sorry"
