It's the official name for WED clay. It's used by tv studios, movie studios, etc. You should check it out. It feels great and is VERY smooth and creamy. No need to fire it.

1) what's the best way to prepare a WED clay sculpture for painting?
2) what's the best paint to use for unfired WED (none of my sculptures are painted as they are all prototypes for 3D models...I've decided to give it a try)? do i need to seal them first?
3) do I need to paint in the shading or does that happen automatically since they are real 3D?
4) i've seen some impressive painted sculptures where the teeth, eyes and inside the mouth are wet looking...how is that accomplished?

well... I don't know about WED.
most shading happens automaticly, however, you are going to want to enhance some spots, you do it like any art, until it looks right.
Glossy paints make things look wet and shiney, but the actual geometry in that area is what pulls it off... if the inside of a mouth is glossy, it'll look wet.. if the whole piece is glossy, it doesn't look wet anymore. there are also non-paints that do these effects. but the key factor is being about to be slightly reflective. ie glossy

Finally got my super sculpey firm in. Here's some wip shots of a guy I'm working on. I love this stuff much more than regular super sculpey.
not bad.. legs feel a bit short to me... I assume they are realisticly proportioned, sometimes that isn't the best move, though.

Thanks man, and you are correct. Luckily the model was sitting a bit low in the armature and I was able to gain a bit of length to his legs. Realistic... no real direction to be honest. He's my first full figure so I'm kinda just looking off references from this little gem:

I don't think so... art and games go hand in hand... it is like posting about being a husband to a pregant wife, in a pregnant mother's forum.... They will have something to know about it.

I was doing some community service at a Salvation Army when it arrived in a donation.
