New Blitz?
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/New Blitz?
Im looking but cannot find anything about this so...
Are we expect any new product from the Blitzteam in the near future? Thinking of BlitzMAX language combined with B3D 3Dfunctionality makes me almost want to cry.
Anybody knows?
Nope, nobody knows. You'd best start crying in the meantime.
Well, Blitzmax would certainly solve the Types problem you're having, as you get to control lists of types (tLists) manually.
Max3D is a work in progress, but as Enay said, nobody knows about a release date. Christmas has been mentioned but I wouldn't hold your breath.
> I wouldn't hold your breath.
Neither would I, I hear it's not very good for the lungs, or a person's health in general.
GfK: Yes, Types handling would be one thing that I would YAY for. Also some fresh shaderfunctionality would be nice.
Well I guess I'll have to sit there with some uglycode instead ;)
Perhaps Mark has a xmas surprise for us all.
Who knows? ;)
Guys,
Before we go into yet another where is Max3d. I would think its still far off as we have not yet heard anything from Mark about its release date. This I think is an indication that it will not be ready for xmas.
just my two cents.
Agreed. If it was imminent, I'm sure we would have seen another compatibility demo.
I guess a project like that really cannot be released without a lot of testing as well and I guess Mark wont do that alone as well.
Surely there must be some big betatesting which the community knows about before any release at all

. Actually, done correctly it's a good way to increase lung capacity, chest size and improve your physique. But you have to combine it with deep breathing.
id be holding off on realeace to see what happens with vista and direct x 10, because mark said in his work log that there is no d3d support in bmax3d for a while. im making do with blitz 3d and im still happy with the output im get with it. texture compression really helped.
Mark said in a mail to the French Blitz comunity that he'd very much like a christmas release of Max3D, but it's not very likely...
Personally, I'd guess a summer 2007 release...
(I wouldn't mind it coming sooner though)

Here's a hint - nothing will happen. I don't know why people keep bringing this up. Since OGL is tied to your video card manufacturer's drivers (ie pretty much only ATI or nVidia support it) Vista has EXACTLY THE SAME OGL support as XP does, assuming the vid card manufacturers bundle more or less the same OGL drivers, which is certainly the case as of Vista RC2 and nVidia.

There will be some small testing procedures within BRL, but if past history has told us anything then most of the testing will be conducted after releasing v1.0 to the public. It's the only realistic way a small company can test thousands of different hardware setups.

oOOOOoh. :)
Relax, it's there since 1.20. Probably a placeholder.
Im relaxed, since our project can't use it anyway. I saw it there, just pointing it out for those who didn't read it properly ;)
