Firefox 2.0 and YouTube

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Firefox 2.0 and YouTube

Does anyone here experience a severe lag in loading when playing two or more videos on You Tube with the latest Firefox? This has only become a problem with the latest update and works fine on version 1.5.0.7 Maybe it`s just me.

Jason.

It really depends on the videos you watch.

Some seem to be on faster servers then others.
I think it has nothing to do with FF2.0.

Also your connection type is highly important.

Well I`ve never had any problems before. CPU usage seems to go up to 100% when trying to load any size video with Firefox 2.0

I`m doing the same thing in IE without any problems but in Firefox 2.0 if I have two clips loading together I cannot even change tabs as everything slows down so much.

I may have to go back to 1.5 I think.

Jason.

Have you checked if your flash plugin is installed properly and uptodate?

I'm a bit stuck here, why would one want more than one video to watch at a time? I don't get it.

My guess is so that while watching one video, the other one will be buffering up a good chunk of the file, ready for viewing when the current video is finished with.

As with regards to multiple videos and slow-down, runs fine here, just checked with 2 YouTube videos playing at the same time in different tabs...

Spot on Genexi2, watch one whilst the other loads. I used to do it all the time now it doesn`t work :(

Firefox updates the plugins automatically I think. How would I go about uninstalling and reinstalling the flash plug in just to make sure all is well?

Jason.

I think you can remove Flash via the Add Remove Programs app, in the control panel. Adobe Flash Player 9, it's called here.
