This website has some great behind the scenes info for anyone like me that is interested in the development of the new Nintendo Wii console. The last section in the Wii Sports chapter also contains some great videos of the SDK in action showing how easy it will be for developers to create Wii software with little programming.

Very cool!

Yep :)

I've been looking at that periodically, as well.
It's a pretty good idea!

Strange, though... the Nintendo Europe site doesn't have the same appearance or fancy Javascript as wii.nintendo.com
Still has the completely useless, unmoving Flash-powered links bar. (Since, as we all know, it's easier to open Flash, resize the scene, create buttons, set the hit area for those buttons, then add the OpenURL command to their release event, then finally upload them and embed them in the web page than it is to simply add some standard HTML links using the curiously forgotten <a> tag!).

Er... anyway. It's a good idea :)

If anyone else is (like me) confused by that -san suffix, it is the same sort of thing as calling someone Mr. in English.

LiveMove sounds good (and I swear, they were using either Gnome or KDE in that presentation... I can't tell the difference between their file selector dialogues, but it definietly wasn't Explorer. It's pretty lame that I am pleased by that, but it is pleasing).
However, it's unfortunate they they didn't demonstrate an improvisation system.
It would be cool (and completely possible!) to have motions recognized by a particular aspect of their shape, with the engine deciding the speed of the animation or to mix in another motion (pushing a rolling pin while spinning it).
Undoubtedly it will be done. If not, I will be very angered.

To quote Einstein: "Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius — and a lot of courage — to move in the opposite direction."

That sums up pretty much anything I have to say about Nintendo and the Wii.

Hmm... how expensive consoles are getting! Really, here's my story:

I got a xbox when they first came out. First game I got was TES3: Morrowind which inspired me to get into game design. When the 360 came out with TES4: Oblivion, I was presented with a choice. Spend $800+ to upgrade my computer or spend $500 to buy Oblivion and an Xbox 360. I chose to upgrade my computer, learning that, whatever major titles come out I can buy them for my computer.

Sweet, my first working Flash app ;)

But didn't Einstein also say, "Wow...My hair looks fannnntastic just as it is!"?
