The massively popular retailer "Lik Sang" is put to death.

I can't count how many items I've ordered from Lik Sang over the years and to see it go has gutted me.

Yeah, legally it might make sense to them, but Sony isn't exactly winning hearts and minds with that move. This isn't the best time for them to sink even further in gamers' opinions.

They could probably have asked nicely :(

That list of Sony employees is just stupid, it just shows that Sony made sure that Lik Sang realy were selling the products, as apposed to it showing complicity.

Lik Sang should fight the case. I see no reason why what they're doing is illegal. As someone said, they are simply buying and selling something.

I read it yesterday on BBC news, the more the UK waits for the PS3, the less I find myself wanting one!

Absolutely. On the upside people outside Japan, wanting to buy Japanese PlayStation consoles or games (like Final Fantasy) aren't going to be able to. Yay! Sad losers are going to have to go buy the poorly translated and embarrasingly bad voiceacting in the US version.

I had this conversation with a pal a while back. There was once a time when Sony stood for quality, a time when Sony had good customer service... but over the last 15 or so years, Sony got big headed. They lost touch of their customers and started doing Quantity over Quality.

And you know what? Microsoft seem to be heading that way. (only they didn't really have quality.)

Nintento are the ones standing this time, quality over quantity (in case of features etc.). I think that I will get a Wii just to support my old pal Ninty.

Depends on their contract. The fact there is a European Sony division leads me to believe that they are not supposed to be selling to Europe. I'd agree that Sony probably should have negotiated something though.

The wii is the simpler of the three systems, so they can pump out more, for less. so the point of Quality over Quantity still stands. :)

Last time I read about the case, Sony was ready-handed to throw as much money at the case as possible, which would have put Lik Sang out of business regardless.

Even though there are obvious legality issues, as to which I couldn't really give a damn about (just means more sales to the companies in the grand scheme of things...), it disgusts me what Sony is doing.......makes me glad their latest money-project, the PS3, looks to become a bit of massive glitch-fest when it's released.
(the fact they had to replace their controller batteries ever so recently is a testament to that)

It speaks volumes that they see the only way to win is via a lawyer, and not by innovation and quality of goods alone.

Won't change anything for me as I already refuse to knowingly buy anything from their catalogue of products.

Sony can drop off the face of the earth for all I care. Cmon' SquareEnix, make more FF for the 360!

Sony's attitude are reminding me of what Sega were like at the launch of the Saturn. They're pretty much out of order on this one; to put someone out of business over a silly issue of selling their products (when they still make their profit anyway) is just plain and simply an issue of greed. As of today, I wont be buying any Sony products, PS3 or otherwise.

Oh wow, this is a sad day indeed.

I suppose I'll be buying a second hand PS3 this time around.
