OSAKit Pro for IE, Firefox, Opera, Mozilla ...etc

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/OSAKit Pro for IE, Firefox, Opera, Mozilla ...etc

OSAKit is a tool to bring your game online and play it in the browser window.

Please visit this page and let me know your experince with it

http://www.osakit.com/test.html

it should work with all the mentioned browsers but I am sure some bugs will pop up so please let me know it and your browser, OS, system specs etc.

IE7 users you may need to click on the control to activate it.

The new version of OSAKit Pro has fixed some bugs and add the license file for each game uses it, the License file is an encrypted file which contains info about the game being downloaded and then OSAKit compares this info and if the game is licensed it will work normally other than that a WARNING message is displayed which stated that the game is not licensed and advice the user to not continue or he is on his own risk. Also the OSAKit will work in a demo mode which is 5 minutes only and the game will be shut down.

Non IE users you will need to install the OSAKit Pro Player to get it work, please not that you need to restart your browser after installtion compelete. Also you should click on 'CLICK HERE' hyperlink to forward you to a page compatible with your browser. I know I should use Java script to make that automatic but I am poor at it, so if anyone want to help with those script it would be much appreciated.

Followed the link, installed the OSAKitPlayer, re-started FireFox and then re-clicked on your link: nothing.

Using FireFox 2.0 (installed yesterday and never crashed).
PS: During the installing process the player opens a window: Read this carefully!...There's nothing to read?!?!? What about to uninstall?

Byez

same here

After the loading bar reaches the end, I get an error about something being a modified version of the licensed one. =] IE7, Vista RC2 (5744). Default settings in Vista are to block any unsignature'd ActiveX controls FYI, without giving me the option to install regardless. Changeable, but your average Vista user (given a few years) won't know that.

EDIT : OK, scratch that. Closing and reopening the browser post installing the ActiveX control, the game works fine. However, when it switched from loading screen to game screen every single application in my taskbar started flashing orange. Good to see you never fixed that, but at least it doesn't just crash for me anymore. ;]

In IE6, I got error: "The file downloaded is a modified version of the licensed one! OSAKit will now exit"

as with Toby, the game worked once I refreshed the page. Also, all of my taskbar windows are now in a 'clicked' state.

degac : Please read the first post again as I edited it.

Toby : Fixed!

Eikon : Fixed!

I need your feedback please!

It worked in Opera and IE6 for me in Windows 98

well done

This is a publically accessible work machine, which could have anything wrong with it, but : Windows XP SP2, IE6.

After installing the ActiveX control and the loading screen finishes, a dialog box from 16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem popped up with a NTVDM error. That was most unexpected.

As usual, closing the browser and reopening shows that the game is running fine.

Toby : thanks for this I think I found the bug and will update the site soon after some minor changes to it.

Thanks everyone for testing and I hope more people try it with FF, Opera...etc

Thanks in advance

running ie7, clicked on the install activex saw the loading then bingo, it works!

However had to reboot pc to close IE7 as couldn't close the tab or IE7.

A strange prob, occures randomly

Sometimes the program didn't lunch(visible), when refresh, the game works OK, but after game close, a process left in task manager shows that game still running in background, it seems to the first instance that's visible, ned to shut down it manually.

WinXP SP2, up to date rollup

Worked fine for me in Firefox 2, but the flow was a bit confusing.

In IE 7, it was very slow, lit up all my tabs as described, locked up IE, and then locked up my machine.

In IE 7, it was very slow, lit up all my tabs as described, locked up IE, and then locked up my machine.

That's Odd enough because it is supposed to work perfect on IE as it is natively written for it!! :)

Also it works in Firefox based on the IE render engine so it should do the same with Firefox or Opera.

Anyway thanks everyone for testing it... I did some minor bug fixes and added abit here and there and the new stable version should be up soon :)

I think the reason is that NTVDM was choking my CPU. In another test, even after I closed IE, I had to kill that process manually.

Hmm. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but... using Firefox 2.0, I get the an empty page with the 'seeing nothing above?' text. I download OSAPlayer and run it once, click on the link to test2.html and I get the FF prompt to install a plugin, but it can't find any. This still happens after closing and reopening FF.

Toby: what is the installtion folder of your FF?

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
