How many Linuxer will pay for it,
and it seems rarely possible to make a binary run on all Linuxes.
I'd hope my game runable on Mac as a BONUS, but how about Linux??
Depends on if an alternative is available as free software.
Cedega does fairly well, and it's commercial.
I believe Opera (commercial) is also available over Ubuntu's repositories.
It depends a lot on how standards-compliant it is. (How well it is built into Linux).
People such as myself who are used to package managers that automatically do system-wide updates for every installed program don't like to break from that path very often. If it's a big application, you'll want to make sure this is possible. (Web servers, stuff like that... I'm not really sure how it all works; I just like it a lot. Saves much misery commonly associated with Windows).
Of course, if it's a game then updates shouldn't matter as much.
Regarding people playing it... I bet if you released a commercial game that actually supports a lot of Linux distros well, you'd be quite popular. Not many games are like that :)

Currently I can ensure same game runs on Win/Mac(Intel) without problem, the only Linux distro on my machine is Ubuntu, no time to check other major distro yet.

It seems GarageGames is dropping/slowing down the Linux distro due to maintenance problem and no much user yet.
That may change if PS3 has a decent version of Linux. However, with the price of PS3, maybe it wont sell so well.
Hmm, makes me wonder if a commercial screen saver would run you, if they even have something for Linux like what Microsoft did with Plus! for Windows. I, for one, would oblige into developing things under BlitzMax for Ubuntu, and doing some cool "art in motion" so to speak. I've done things like this since, forever, maybe the old QBasic days with DOS. They should work great under Linux, tho, just need to resurrect my best works from back then.
