Does anyone know how to move the print head along to the left manually on this printer? I want to soak up the excess ink in the waste ink pads.
Epson R300 advice?
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Epson R300 advice? I'm pretty sure that most Epson printers have a manual release switch for this.
Have a look around the left hand side of the thing the ink cartridges fit into. There should be a white plastic switch poking through the metal plate at the back. Seem to recall its nigh on impossible to get to with your hands, so poke at it with a screwdriver (gently, of course!). That should release the mechanism so you can move it manually.
PS: Don't blame me if you break it. ;)

Try holding down the 'ink empty' button on the printer itself, the printer should move the heads across to the ink change position.

On every Epson printer I've ever had, that doesn't work. It will only move the print head out for servicing if the cartridge is reporting that its empty. Gfk, I could kiss you. Found it, easy as pie. I'll mop up all that excess ink when I get back from the pub. Or is that a bad idea?

Works for my 3 epson printers.
