Jupiter engine price cut

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Jupiter engine price cut

I just stumbled across this...

The Jupiter Engine has dropped it's license price to $4,750 for a seat. This engine was used for games like No One Lives Forever 2 & Tron 2.0 and was the precursor to Jupiter EX (F.E.A.R.). It comes with content creation tools, great AI tools and all kinds of other bells and whistles. And they also give you the full SOURCE CODE for NOLF2!!!

I know, I know. The engine is old and is DX7 based. Well here's the cool part, they upgraded it to DX9 including shaders, bump mapping etc!

The 'catch' is that there's an additional $10k charge when the game goes gold. But if you have distribution lined up then this shouldn't be a completely terrorfying number. There's also a $25k site license option as well.

I know this is way out of reach for most of us (me included unless 'Bad,Bad Bots!' becomes a monster hit). But you have to admit this is a great price for a well established product.

Adding DX9 to this older engine is a great way to breath more life into it. Kind of like B3D getting DDS. :)

Tron 2.0 was dx7 based? wow, man, I forgot how long ago that was.

Last thing I remember thinking about it was "Cool, a new game will be released!" :))
