Can anyone recommend a good free\cheap video editor that will allow me to combine flash videos and movie footage with voices\music.

Jason.

Do any video editors support flash video?

Sorry I meant to say that I`ve converted the flash into a more standard format so thats not a problem. Anything that can handle mpg, avi etc... will do the trick.

I know this sounds really obvious but Windows Movie Maker (that comes with Windows XP) is quite nice (and free). Mind you, it will only export to WMV but allows you to import MPGs, AVIs and add transitions, text, images, sounds etc.

Thanks, after reading your advice I have just tried Windows Movie Maker and it is actually not half bad. I will definately take a better look into it.

Any other recommendations?

Adobe After-Effects/Premier

Buts thats fancy-dancy high end expensive stuff.

And what about ram, I guess these programs are pretty memory hungry. I have 512mb, will that be enough?

an alternative tool..

I'm pretty sure Windows Movie Maker will output full DV-res AVI files, and will output to Mini-DV tape, as well as WMV...

Adobe After-Effects/Premier

While very good, they certainly aren't free/cheap.

Although there is a cheaper version called Premiere Elements which contains jus the core minus some of the fluff.

Premiere does have a free time-limited trial though, as does Vegas Video, another decent editor.
