Need a Mac owner to compile my Blitzmax code

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Need a Mac owner to compile my Blitzmax code

Hi, I'm looking for a Mac user that would be willing to compile my Blitzmax game, Gun Ranger X. I ask that once you finish you delete the source and resources. Please reply here if you are interested and have the time. I heard that Macs don't like .zip files so how should I send the data to you? It's about 3 megs.

Thanks,
-Ryan

I've got an old PPC G3 I could attempt to compile you game on, and I promise to delete source and resources for your game afterwards...

I remember trying to do the same for my current project, but in the end, someone very kindly gave me an old G3 Mac...

Just e-mail me if you want it...

I have a new intel macbook pro and some free time. Send it on over. Also, .zip files are fine.

I thought the point of developing a game in Blitzmax on a Mac was that even at the very least the developer has a Mac of their own. What happens if there are some issues with the Mac version of Gun Ranger X and someone e-mails you asking for help, how will you fix them?

Ah Ok guys thanks1 I'll send them when I'n not at school. :) Probably like 7 hours from now. Well I suppose SOME support is better than no Mac support.

Hi, I have a iBook g3, MacOS X 10.3, if you want my help send me via e-mail.

I agree about having at least some mac support, nicer to have the product with not much support than no product at all, I guess. I don't have a windows machine but one of the reasons I bought blitzmax was that I can easily create a windows product and reach more audience even if I have limited access to any PC. I can get a cousin to compile the app and I can ask on here for some windows information/support, but that's about it. Still it's enough for a small product. I think if I was seriously developing for Windows I would try to get regular PC access.

Ok I think I have sent it to everyone in case they compile different. Thanks for the service!
I think they have like 3 OS don't they?
Does the file need to be compiled on each OS or are they interchangable?

You need to have at least 2 compiles.
A PPC one and an intel mac one as it will be emulated if you don't do so.

@Ryan - Cool game! I just sent it over. Also, I think that Intel applications are backwards compatible with PPC systems. I may be wrong though. So far I have not been able to clear stage 6.

Hi Ryan.

I can help out and create a Universal Binary of your game (i.e. one that runs on both powerpc and Intel based macs at full speed).

You can checkout my work at http://www.deadpixelgames.com (only a single game yet).

The only catch is that I don't have much free time (own and manage a company besides coding games as a hobby), so it will probably take a couple of days. So, if you are not in a hurry, let me know, and I will help you out.

PLS

Hey ryan, I got Mac G4 here and would be happy to test out your game. Send it to sushimasta@.... .zip files are fine.
