FORUM REQUEST: Split thread into pages

Hello.

Just a thought to avoid the need for breaking threads into 3+ parts.

What if threads were split into X replies per page? Where X can be defined by each member in their profile, i.e. 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, All.

Also, it'd be nice if there were shortcuts next to each thread to either jump to the last unread reply, or straight to the most recent post.

Wouldn't be that hard to do, would it? And it'd make navigation somewhat easier.. more intuitive if you like.

It's not the first time it's requested.. so I doubt it would be implemented this time.., but ya never know eh..

Yeah, just seems to be a lot of "The BLAH BLAH BLAH thread - thread #97" in recent months.

The suggestions above would do away with the need to break up threads manually like that.

Great idea, would be useful not having to load 50 pictures each time on huge pictuyre heavy threads.

There also needs to be a reverse order option so I can just read the final post at the top and then dive straight into the thread reply to topic box without having to scroll down to the bottom. I think I'll save 1000 metres worth of mouseball wear and tear a year.

yep, its the pictures that always get me as well, not so bad tho since red left. Problem is with spliting the page, is that you get a lot more flame wars, because people dont read the first pages, and just jump in after reading the last couple

It's a good idea. Even on broadband, on large threads it takes a good 30-45 seconds to fully load the page with all the images. On even bigger threads it takes up to 2 minutes.

So yeah, a way to jump to the last post, splitting the threads up and Max3D would be perfect.

Max3D especially because it would give me even more reason to daydream all day and get nothing done.

I think its a good idea :)
