Visual Blitz IDE?

I've been to the Olaka website and VisualBlitzIDE is still for sale.

Does anybody know if a BlitzMax version will happen?

Is Eddy still developing it?

Anyone know what the latest update file for it is?

Very unlikely. I strongly recommend against buying any Eddy products because as soon as he has your money thats it! For BlitzMax get Blide!

Anyone is using VisualBlitz IDE and can tell me what it's missing, if anything?

Overall, during B+, I liked it. Only real bugger is tab'ing large sections of code. Tab a few hundreds of lines, and you can go for a coffee meanwhile.

Bought it, used it, loved it.

Then the author refused to answer emails or forum questions, shut down his support forums, and ceased all development on it.

Since then it's been surpassed in every way by the still-actively-developed IDEal. There were even a couple of nice features in VisualBlitz that I asked Trixx to add to IDEal, and he did. I have no doubts that if we come across something else 'nice' and sensible to add to an IDE, he'll add those too (if he can).

In short: no, it's no longer worth it.

No I re-downloaded IDEal. But, many of the things I need it to be safe for, make it either crash or give bogus results. It's author is aware, as I have posted bug / problem reports on a thread here. But, I don't deal with frustrated people, and found that IDEal attracts frustration. Period.

But not only that, btu when the author and devs claim they will add a feature in it's next release update, and they don't, then why bother? Being taken seriously, as a user, is part of the deal, or else it's a spoof product.

@_33: Visual Blitz will show your ESC characters without breaking your code or crashing.

Sorry, little off topic to this thread, but:
Just to be clear, I'm the only one behind IDEal... Others just support the development and are trying to be of help.
You may say whatever you want, I'm not mad at you because I had a similar personality when I was very young.
The only thing I regret is that I spent 2 hours in making a special version with the feature you requested ( or bug-fixing, if it's better for you ).
I just don't get it why are you still reading the IDEal forum...

there is nothing wrong with visual blitz... i cant think of any thing to improve on... maybe some per pixel alpha so the menu and stuff look cool...
