Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Google ToolBar worth installing?
Is it a spyware or adware?

http://toolbar.google.com/Just want to know if it's uninstallable,
or have it can really helps search ability.
This is the Blitz forum.
Why not ask Google for Google rlated support!
I use Google toolbar, it's not spyware or adware. It is uninstallable. It helps the search process as you don't need to go to google.com.
it depends. A lot of experts consider this spyware. In doubt keep your hands off I say.
In terms of spyware it amounts to the same thing as using www.google.com
They will keep track of your searches, tastes, surfing patterns, likely purchases, etc etc etc. If you do not want to be spied on don't use the web. It very, very, very dangerous and you will ultimately regret it. Did I mention it was very dangerous?
Uninstall your browser now. Uninstall your OS now. Bolt the doors. Draw the curtains. Hide under the duvet and don't answer the phone. It's for your own safely and privacy. Trust me.
I've never seen the point of that, really.
It just takes up a lot of screen space, and it rarely seems useful for more than just searching Google quickly... which is easily done in any decent web browser anyway.
In a weird way, I sort of like that Google keeps track of my tastes on my account.
It means that when I search for stuff the things more likely to interest me will get more emphasis, and that ads targeted at me may even (strange though it sounds) be of interest to me.
No tool bar is worth downloading.

Hey come on, tick the options in Firefox to auto delete all your cookies everytime you shut the Firefox browser, then you're a bit safer anyway :)
Hmm....
I found Opera have quick google serach,
and Google ToolBar DO collect your search habit.
Installed it, and doen't have major problem.
BTW, just received the Google ADSense check, I got around $300 extra to use, it's cool.
Firefox has a Google bar of sorts by default. I used to install it when using IE though. It's handy to have around.
Just make sure you don't go for the Google Desktop thing.
I use Googlebar Lite for Firefox, not created by the guys from Google, but a million times more useful imo, 'course you need Firefox though for it to work.
