Has anyone played Metroid Prime Pinball on the DS? I'm tempted to buy the US version (it's still not avilable in the UK) for my DS Lite. I was a big fan of Pinball Dreams, Fantasies and Illusions on the Amiga, and portable pinball is very appealing...

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/DS: Metroid Prime Pinball Anyone? It's a good game, but I wouldn't put it in the same league as the old Amiga classics... because in many ways it's a different game. If you look around though, you can get Dreams and Fantasies on one cart for the gameboy advance (called Pinball Challenge Deluxe). If I remember correctly, you can't save your highscores, but it's Amiga exact ;)
It aint bad for a pinball game, even though it's probably one of the best handheld pinball games out there.
My only current beef with it is that Nintendo hasn't come out with a DSLite-friendly rumble pack, the one that comes with MP:Pinball is suited for the standard GBA slot, so it sticks out slightly on the Lite.
(imo, no sense playing the game without the rumble pack, it adds that much more sense of tactile feedback to the thing)
Some of the modes in it tick me off though, but it's still good overall.
(mainly the "Metroid Mania" mode, where 2+ metroids appear out just slightly infront of the rutters {or whatever they're called}, 50% of the time I hit a Metroid my ball decides to bounce directly off into the gutter)

i have not played MPP yet and i doubt it will come to the UK at all seeing that it has been out in the US since fall of last year

Damn, that pak costs nearly as much as MP:P itself does....
On that note though, you could always import it Link if you got spare cash lying around, NDS is region-free if you weren't aware.
(regarding the rumble pack imo, Nintendo really missed a good oportunity with the DSLite, as that little "cap" for the GBA port could have been a freely included rumble)

yeah too bad imported DS gmaes cost like $50 without shipping
the only game that is worth getting from japan is Jump SuperStars, it will never be released here or the UK

it comes out soon in the US, i am not learning japanese any time soon so why bother

Thanks all. I think it's worth a shot at £15.99. My wife likes pinball games, so it's a chance for me to lure her into the world of the DS.
