DAZ3D studio 1.0 for free

DAZ3D studio 1.0 is now a free download. I didn't test it yet, but it seems to be a powerful modeler with focus on character modeling. It allows to import poser 4 animation. Not sure if there's a useful export format for animations, but at least it offers some formats like wavefron obj and more.

You need to become member first, but that's a snap.

EDIT: ok maybe I was a little too enthusiastic. Probably this tool is less a modeler but rather an scene renderer and poser animation ripper. I'll let you know when I know more (missing gui screenshots on the page...)

Its a program for posing and animating DAZ and poser models. There are plugins availible that add functionality to it, but It is not a modeller. I use it to quickly pose characters for inclusiion in Vue, Carrara etc and also for 2D stills and placeholders.

Its certainly not a poser beater, but its early days yet and it Is free.

Well worth having a look at.

The program itself has always been free (as far as I know) but the last time I looked there were some base models on offer gratis for a limited time too, so it's worth having a good rummage around.
