Firefox 1506 - even more broken?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Firefox 1506 - even more broken?

I can't install plugins or extensions now! Oh great. Not been a good week so far! ;O)

Anyone else find this issue or know of a fix?

I feel an Opera coming on.

I'm using 1.5.0.6 and can install any extensions with np.

Works completely fine here.

It's no more or less broken than the last couple of versions for me, which is still pretty broken. I've started moving over to Opera, but not entirely yet.

I seem to be having a problem with reading e-mails, whenever I load an e-mail that has text bigger than the width of the screen, I cann't scroll left and right to see the rest of it?
Anyone else have this problem?

Enay...

No, but it's in that style of features that are becoming more and more the norm in FF these days... Looks very much like they've gone beyond themsleves and common sense, and ventured into that territory known as feature creep...

I sometimes also get the ability to be unable to use up and down arrow keys or page up and down to scroll a website.
Unless I try clicking in all sorts of places inside the window.

It didn't used to do that before. If it ain't broke, why fix it?

Also, when I go to "Character Encodings", more often than that my favourite encoding keeps disappearing from the menu here and I keep having to find it in 2 menus further along.

But, it still seems to be better than IE ever was.

Enay, yes the silly "don't feel like scrolling for a minute or two" is a common enough feature of late. Bad isn't it?

I got the latest Opera installed. Now if only there was an easy way of moving/sharing cookies between the two. Since there is no easy way to do it at present then it's yet another reason why cookies are an evil that is best dispensed with.

Use FireFox for months, now switching to Opera and many problem was gone.

Opera is a really good browser, much better than IE or FF in my opinion ! i switched to it reccently and now can't get back to FF (only using IE sometimes as some pages don't display well on some sites but its very rare !)

I changed to FireFox 2.0 beta 1, works great.

1.5 starting with .2 was quite broken here and had problems over and over again, one of the most annoying was that it just froze and needed to be killed and stuff like that

Been using Firefox for a year or 2 now, Recently I've had really annoying trouble copying text from web pages by right clicking and also saving bookmarks, niggly little things that are annoying. My only reason for not using Opera was the ad's
but having downloaded the current version I see its not ad sponsered anymore which is great.

Thee're som Opera Tricks to make it portable, pretty useful and I can carry it everywhere in my USB Stick.

I've been using Flock (www.flock.com) for awhile now and it's been really good. Works on Windows and Mac and gives me everything FireFox did. Might be a worthy alternative...
