Top Top Top Top Top

Ok, so you're writing an FAQ for a website. You write the Q&A, then to make it user friendly, you provide an index of all the Qs at the top which hyperlink to the corresponding anchor points.

I often see in other FAQs that, in order to get back to the index, there's a "top" link after every answer. Is this necessary though, or do all those tops clutter up the page do you think?

They sould be able to use the Back arrow on the browser navigation bar, and in this case it should go back to the this pages previous position (As apposed to the previous page).

If you cannot make this functionality, then a "Back to Top" button is needed. Both is over the top

I never click those buttons; I just scroll back up or hit my browser's Back button.

Didn't know the back button would restore the original position, I think I'll let people rely on that rather than placing tops everywhere.
