Anyone know of a way to rip/grab/save an avi file to disk that has been embedded into a sodding flash applet window?
Thanks :)
Can't you get the url of the video by viewing the page source? You always used to be able to, but maybe there are other ways of doing it now. I just used to get the URL, put it into a download manager, and done.
Have a look in your browser cache.
If you use FireFox, there are a few extensions available for saving embedded content.
I've tried everything I can think of, looking in the source just links to some mad 1kb file thingy which won't save. I've found where the temp tile is stored in windows, but when I try to copy the temp file it says file is in use and as soon as I close the browser the file vanishes, even after making it read only it still gets chopped. I even switched my PC off when the file had finished loading so that I could try to copy the file that was left over, but that didn't seem to work either.
Doh! Man, flash is so GAY! :)
try viewing the 1k file in a hex editor
I think it utilizes the streaming of FLV or something, if you want to get video from youtube or similar service, there should be correspond extractor/analyzer available.
Ask Puki :P
