OK has anyone tried FEAR? Is it any good?
FEAR should I be afriad to buy it?
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/FEAR should I be afriad to buy it? Played FEAR a month ago, it's not bad but the game flow is a bit dull, especially when I played Serious Sam 2(which is pretty fun imo)
I really enjoyed it but it is a bit repetative. Too few enemy types and environments for my liking. Howwever, the last few levels make up for it and it has a wonderful atmosphere. It's not half as scary as it thinks it is, though.
First game where I've felt annoyed at a character in a good way.
Yes, I hated that little girl in red and I had a sense of dread whenever she appeared. It just sucks to be blown off my path and thrown into a pool of blood, and it's not the game's fault.
Very well done, and they did a great job with making it immersive.
The enemy AI is great fun; I just wish there was more game there to play with it.
Funny that you should mention FEAR, actually.

The multiplayer mode is being made free!

I got to play it for free in an internet cafe a month ago. I
really had fun with the enemy AI. Almost as good as the AI of
the commandos in Half Life 1.
Besides that, the "Freaky Supernatural" aspect of the game
made me roll my eyes. Worth the buy, though.

It's okay - considering you will probably get it cheap it will be a good buy.
It is also one of the highest spec games around - if not the highest. Not many games recommend you have a 3GHz CPU.

FEAR is without question the pinnacle of FPS games - the game by which any subsequent FPS games are measured. I loved Fear, but i got stuck as i'm crap at FPS :-)
yes... be afraid... be verrrry afraid...
an enjoy it... i think you will...
i only played the demo, but that was enough for me to put it on my must have list... i'll be getting it as soon as i have some free time (and money) to devote to games again...

Not quite as good as HL2 or NOLF in my opinion until you've a fetish for air ducts, corridors, same opponets over and over again and...*snoring*
heheh! Well I am still looking for an isometric "lite" RPG in the style of Diablo of D2 or FATE etc. FEAR looked interesting but the scary little girl is VERY Japanese Horror Filmlike... Hmmm will look for it on the shelves...
Have you tried Sacred? It's a decent Diablo clone. Or maybe the new Titan Quest?
The singleplayer is good; the multiplayer is NOT.
what flameduck said
Aside from hefty system requirments, Fear is great....a lot of spooky jumpy moments though...if you're not into that stuff...
FEAR is the best game I've played in 6 months.

Hey flamey! We agree! :)
Sacred... yes... Titan no... not into that MYTHOLOGICAL stuff... :)
