Wanted: Free board games for travelling

I'm looking for a nice collection of board/card games suitable for installing onto a laptop for travelling.

Anything which does not require an internet connection and preferably has a CPU opponent option.
Some board/card game examples:

* Chess
* Checkers (Draughts)

* Cluedo

* Memory (click 2 identical pics type)

I'm not really interested in limited demo stuff with nag screens and the likes. Just a few classic puzzle/board games to keep me occupied for a while.

Pity you're only after free stuff, else I would've recommended getting a Nintendo DS. Perfect travel companion. ;)

I just took the laptop with the entire Gambase64 database (and Vice64) on it on holiday, with 17,000 titles, I wasn't going to run out of games to play. It includes many board games of course.

A lot of free flash games can be downloaded for offline play with just a bit of internet knowhow. For example, this one was linked around these parts a few days ago, and I've been playing it heavily since:

I have a NES emulator on my xbox.... I have to say that is the worst for fighting off a short attention span (not that I have one, however it does create one).

Start to play this game, get 10 min into it and realize another favorite you want to play, exit out, start other game, 15 min think of another, exit out, repeat.
