Turbosquid help

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Turbosquid help

I was thinking of selling some of my work on turbosquid, but theres some thing I dont understand.

http://www.turbosquid.com/Help/Index.cfm?FuseAction=VendorFAQHelp#3

go to about the middle of that page, and you'll read all that tax stuff. I live in australia , so I need to fill out a specific form, but I'm not sure what form, or what that form says I do etc etc ? I'm only 16 and don't really understand the tax system. so some help would be great :)

EDIT: Okay well I think its this form : http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw8ben.pdf

But I'm still confused about the tax things... and why I have to fill out this form?

Mmm. well - I think Turbosquid may eat some of your profits. I remember "sswifty" ages ago saying they took 50%.

"svenart" (featured in my sig) moved his stuff to the3dstudio as it enabled him to sell his stuff cheaper but make pretty much the same money. He still sells on Turbosquid though.

Yeah they take 50%, and it apears that the3dstudio only takes 25%, But I smell something fishy, the layout and design of the sites are almost identical :O Even the registration part with the "Hide mature content" ...

Maybe both websites are using the same CMS or shopping portal.

Ahhh :) I dont know much about that. Oh well, I think I might have to get one of my parents to sign up "legally" or something, because it apears I need to , or the person , needs to get a US tax number and fill out some forms etc etc (on both sites).

I gave up on putting any of my models to TS because the paperwork and legal hassle just wasn't worth it... they sure make it difficult unless you're from the states!

I second that.
