Website domain and "alias" choice

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Website domain and "alias" choice

Im going to be getting a domain, and completely redoing my website in flash with the hopes of keeping it updated. It will mainly be a portfolio to display my work.

Seeing as though my alias is Weetbix, would this cause any legal isues with sanitarium? I was thinking I should steer away from that kind of a domain anyway so that crushes the hopes of something like :
Weetstudios.com
weetbixdesigns.com
or anything along them lines.
I could go again with my current name, flytec designs. or maybe... johnstudios... =\ I always wanted my name as a domain :P http://johnhannagan.com , is that corny or professional?

Hannagandesigns.com .. hmm.. anyone got any ideas?

Any -studio, -design sounds not-so-good to me. Weetbix might cause problems and confusion...

Using your own name is good IMO for portfolio purposes, at least people remeber it easily and Google finds you fast because your name is on the domain name.

Weetbix(you) was 6th - not bad, but it would be better to be the 1st:

Ooops, wasn't you: [Female/Australia] :))

That just shows that even the weetbix doesn't work :)

I would choose:

johnhannagan.net - if you want a [non-locational] net portfolio site
johnhannagan.au - if you want to show where you from too

Well, my other alias was ssjjackass.

I have a choice between .com .org or .net, But I think ill go with Johnhannagan.net

Johnhannagan.net is better IMO.

Johnhannagan.net sounds likes a company,
Johnhannagan.org sounds like in memorial of someone...(ops, sorry for that :| )

Yeah, if it's a portfolio site, I'd just use your name. I definately wouldn't use anything with 'jackass' in it - especially if you're touting for work. ;)

Thanks guys :D I was going to sign up for that microsoft office live thing and get the free domain, but Iv tried , and you need a real credit card =(. I think its about time I actually brought a domain anyway.
