For quite awhile I've had that serveral applications on my mac do not play the sounds correctly. A few games. My webbrowsers (Apple Safari & Netscape Navigator), and QuickTime.
Not correctly is even an understatement.
They don't play the sounds at all.
This even affects a few games I have on my Mac. (Fairies and Harry Potter II to name a few. Fairies even doesn't start up because of this issue).
I really can't find the evil-doer, but my guess it's QuickTime, since, as far as I know, QuickTime is often used as an engine for some applications to display graphics and to play sounds.
Now I wonder.
Do more people have experience with this kind of trouble, and are there people around here, who can tell me how to solve this?
