Oringinal Post:

John (And his brother)s Nuclear war has realy depressed me. It a well designed polished B3D game. And although I dont think I could write it, I look at it and think "I could write that". Contradiction accepted.

Its not the only good professional b3d game, theres that childrens education series about like gardening and the harvest fate and stuff. (Really really sorry that I cannot remember any of the game names, or the writer). And that ganada racing looks good, amist others

And its just depressing me that Ive decided to use BMax. So BMax people, (And Grey, Ive seen your framework, and thats the sort of thing I mean, looks professional, but somthing done with it), has anyone got anything that "looks" like a real proper product

I think the educational stuff is BMAX actually -

B3d has the added advantage that it has 3d and lots and lots of people support it with shadows, sprites, particle systems, terrain editors etc. You are so much further ahead of the 'game' using something like b3d.

BMax is awesome - there is no doubt, but that means you will have to write everything yourself and spend lots and lots of time researching, looking for resources, that's before you start to look at the manual again and again and wonder how much easier it would have been to have Stephen Hill write it.

Of course you could purchase Grey's framework to get you started, but again without great content and a solid idea, you won't be any further down the long road of game development such as JP's wonderous "Naked War".

Just my witterings...

Well Suduko Maya Gold (the new version) is made with my framework. I'm sure Gellyware will post soon.

Also my new games is well underway (all the hard stuff is done) but awaiting more art/music assets. It'll be out i Sept now.

Ooh, I know of a GREAT game, Inca Quest, now on Real Arcade.

And Indiepath has made C'Bubble.

I wrote Bullet Candy in Blitzmax, so i guess that it counts as a finished game.

My Geometry Wars clone was done in Bmax. It's as finished as it can be for now...

H&K - could you edit your opening post, and create an upto date list of complete finished projects from Max, cos this is a question id like to know as well.

I did Tempest (in the samples), Gridwars
and am working on several projects.
I've also cnverted over most of my older projects from Blitz2D/3D to BMax too.

Look for 'Polarity' coming out soon.

Well, here are a few finished games developed in bmax by Idigicon :-

Nux - http://idigicon.com/?productid=691
Double Top Deluxe - http://idigicon.com/?productid=661
Mahjong Deluxe - http://idigicon.com/?productid=647
Farmerama - http://idigicon.com/?productid=659
Sudoku - http://idigicon.com/?productid=664
Kids Sudoku - http://idigicon.com/?productid=687
Polar Kubes

Also the Mac version of Platypus.

BMAX don't make good games, you have to.

I've always thought that the key to actuallt finishing a game is to not start writing something that you can't finish. All of the games listed at the top are simple arcade/puzzle games, not massively multiplayer 3d online RPGs or first person shooters.

Cheers
Charlie

Area 51 Blackjack - http://www.ragtag.net/games/

Okay, it's not very big or complex, but at least it's a finished game. :-)

Ragnar

Tile Cascade - www.edzup.co.uk/tilecascade.html

Inca Quest is by Michael R. (can remember exact surname spelling) and Sudoku Maya Gold is by Gellyware.

Just thought of some more:

Protogem by Eikon?
Also Maggie the Gardener and Tom's Hen House both by ?
Also wasn't Pushy and the Magic Blocks (by Aymes) a BMax game?

why does the list say:
Finished Bmax Games (And Bullet Candy)

i..e "And Bullet Candy". isn't it finished or something? AOTMG is finished, it's just not really a proper game :-)

I wrote Bullet Candy in Blitzmax, so i guess that it counts as a finished game.
I was just being @ jkrankie

Bullet candy is finished. Also my website is www.charliesgames.com if you could add that to the list.

Cheers
Charlie

For free stuff i did kaboom and worked on Mark's gridwars... http://spielwiese.marune.de/_max/index.html

I've also written these in BlitzMax. Not overly complicated, but finished games nonetheless.

Worm - http://www.sos-software.co.uk/games/pc/worm/worm.htm
Max Invaders - http://www.sos-software.co.uk/games/pc/mi/mi.htm
Max Invaders DX - http://www.sos-software.co.uk/games/pc/midx/midx.htm

All are available for the Mac as well, with the first two also for Linux.

Anymore to be added?

Do screen savers count?

The Dungeon Runes. By me. Had a couple rave reviews on codersworkshop :)

@H&K
kaboom as written above ( http://kaboom.marune.de ) and my version of gridwars ( http://gridwars.marune.de ).

The Dungeon Runes. By me. Had a couple rave reviews on codersworkshop :)

any screenies ?

Anymore to be added?
soon soon...in fact 2 by Christmas.

Here I am! 'Bloniacs' look at www.graphioware.com

any screenies ?

Nah mine is just a text RPG, but with graphics :) Some love it, some can't stand it...like any text rpg. I never posted it here becuase I was happy with codersworkshop's awesome showcase (RIP)

Hmmm, s'pose for 'finished' games they've to be in that public domain thing. My unfortunate attention to detail/ diminisihing amount of development time might result in the masses not benefiting from my app - ho hum.

BMax can be used for 'educational' apps too....

@Plotter,

Im (And as its my list, my rules count), counting anything that ppl say, that is it doesnt even need a download, and Ill stick it in the list.

Was just doing some research and found this thread. Are there any new BMax games since 5 months ago? (I made Oz and Holiday Bonus since then).

Give me a couple of months ;o) Working on a Rockfall port that I specifically started to get the game out on Mac, but took the opportunity to polish it up considerably (more a rewrite/think than a straight port). There's a screenie on my site ;o)

Only been working on this for about six weeks. Had another project that I started earlier last year, but put it on hold while I get this one out.

Oh yeah I saw the sceenie. So it's not finished yet then. I look forward to it :-)

Tom's Hen House and Maggie the Gardener are by Anawiki Games (by me) - URL's:
http://www.anawiki.com/game_thh.php (hen house)
http://www.anawiki.com/game_mg.php (maggie)

they are already in the list ;-)

Part One.

Aha of course. Also you made another little game didn't you?

So far only about 20 people have released finished games?

wonder what % of users that is...Also not all the games in that list are commercial.

Part Two (Duex) but that's not released yet.

@AnaWiki,

It was the quality of your two games and naked war, that made me start the thread. (If you read I thought they were D3B games, and was asking what Bmax games could compare to them)

@Indie,

Detials. It called "Part One"?

It's Naked War!

Doh.

See PC Gamer? Told you it reminded me of Laser Squad Nemises.

http://www.360shooters.com/

Indiepath: video is cool :-)

Apes :)

"Thrust Extreme" link

ah yes of course.

so that's it then?

@Grey: one more week and we'll add another title to the list :) Then few months more and we'll add next one. And so on... ;-)

ClickBeat! :D

Ok. 'Nother round of updates.
Please for ease of me editing
Game-Name Writer Link
