In the course of fixing my other problem I seem to have let my guard down and somehow acquired a virus. It was sending/receiving data, seemingly to/from an address beginning with "irc.mirccom". It got about 1.5Mb up and 1.5Mb down by the time I noticed it. How concerned should I be?
Virus - how worried should I be?

point your browser to housecall.trendmicro.com for a free virus check if you've not got one installed.

I'm sure the irc.mirccom was a thing in the past - I'm sure it was trojan related. I think Yasky.com were legitimate though - however, this may be going anywhere.
What exactly are they trying to achieve? What data are they looking for?
Do you have a 'mirc.dll'' file on your system?
mirccom also related to 'mirccommand' which was linked to IRC 'Bang' commands - which I suppose could be used for wrong reasons as it can send info.
