Maxtor Sata on Windows Vista

I decided to install Vista on one of my drives, however it isn't recognizing the SATA drive. Any suggestions?

If its anything like XP - You usually need a floppy disk which has the SATA driver on and you press F6 during installation when XP asks if you have any 3rd party or RAID drivers to install.

I assume Vista will work roughly the same, however I have no idea if the XP driver will work in Vista. I'd check with the motherboard manufacturers website incase they have a beta Vista driver for the SATA controller on your motherboard.

I didn't see anything like the xp thing, where you pressed F6 and then put in a floppy. Those Microsoft guys are bastards... why not include support for SATA so it won't piss the hell out of everyone that wants bigger and faster drives. I checked with Maxtor and they don't have Vista drivers, I also checked with Asus and they are bitch. Well, I can tell you all that B3D exes work. I haven't been able to check other programs, because they were on the SATA drive.
3D World Studio doesn't work.

Vista is a big media player. Search is really good(it goes inside bb files). GUI is better looking (obvious). Window transitions are smooth. It seems that it has too much security stuff... Vista is still not ready to be shipped, has many things that could be improved.

SATA drives work fine here and the install option was the same as XP for me im using vista Beta 2.

Vista works fine with SATA and it just happens that my Vista is installed on a Maxtor 250 GB SATA drive. As long as your SATA controller is not setup for RAID operations you should not require additional drivers as in that case the OS sees the drive just as another ordinary IDE drive.

Slower. If you have 'only' 512MB, prepare to witness a lot of hard drive thrashing. A dual core/multi CPU environment is essential for tasks like file deletion.
