Nice! Those first "real" mac commercials made me want to cry and then hit someone - hard - preferrably a mac user.

Macs refuse to be known as personal computers; Each one is built for Steve Jobs and only Steve Jobs. They each have their own unique hippy personality, too radically cool to obey orders :P

Still, could have been done FAR better. I hope to see vastly improved parodies very soon.

Why? The "I'm a Mac" thing is stupid enough already. Making a parody of something stupid is, well even more stupid.I did think the one about the trust fund was funny tho' (although probably unintentional).

The original Mad ads are much more entertaining. These scream geek insecurity. The latest one where the Mac and PC guy are sitting in boxes is hilarious, although the most priceless one is probably where the PC freezes up ... funny stuff.
Wait, I was wrong.
It is now possible to gain posession of a purchased Mac computer if the user catches them off gaurd with an installation of a slightly less sentient Windows installation.
Unfortunately, the now slightly less powerful Mac personality still has enough power to scare off other open operating systems such as Linux.
I'm not saying Apple's original ads weren't funny, and I think this spoof is better considered more making fun of the absurd insecurity that people feel about their computers of choice :)
Agreed, the PC freezing up one was pretty nicely done... as are various others. The real pie chart one would have been amusing had they cast a more interesting actor for the Mac part.
Right now, however, my vision of Mac OS, as a result of Apple's falsely advertised security (major security hole had to be fixed - at version 10 - in the ICONS system?!), is some lunatic with false visions of power standing on a hill yelling down at everyone to come and infect him with viruses.
Their ad campaign blatantly ignores points, so most people can easily see that Apple's fake Pros and Cons thing is completely biased.
For example, they neglected to create an ad depicting the Mac looking very tired and red in the face after a couple hours of being turned on, since he foolishly overdressed and lacks proper cooling. (iMac, exploding MacBooks... list goes on).
Also forgot to show how just about everything Apple builds requires to be sent back for maintenance as simple as a battery change. (Let alone new processors!).
As a result, Apple can come out looking desperate and unreliable.
Most of Microsoft's ads are generally much less finger-pointing, and all they aim to do is give people a sense that Microsoft isn't a ridiculous mess (which they do seem to be), so they can be more effective.
(Of course, Microsoft is still garbage).
My opinion is that they all suck, so it doesn't matter which one you use.
As long as you hate them both, I'm happy.

I was having one of those horrible Windows moments, featuring gpedit.msc which contains many wonderful settings (such as a setting for proper startup which won't let me run programs until it's Actually Ready To Run Programs) and the setting that may fix Windows hanging for me on logout. For some reason, these settings seem to not actually change anything!
I know this because I told it to log out with a console showing me what it's doing, and it doesn't even do so after restarting the computer.
Complete pain!
Normally I don't mind Windows at all (which is lucky, considering I use it 85% of the time), but things like that remind me of how many bits of garbage operating systems have (10 versions to clean it up?!! That's over $1000 there!), and as a result they just don't feel justified.
I can't say I despise Macs; I use them from time to time to see if my stuff compiles and *behold* it does!
I actually sort of respect any operating system that can run compiled code.
It's quite an achievement!
Still, Macs have gaping flaws as well. (iMac: hmm, let's use this space where we could put some proper cooling to attach a trendy handle!).
Not that Linux doesn't have gaping flaws, but I feel happier with stuff like Linux since its developers - being, for the most part, regular middle class people - are easier to relate to. (And, therefore, so is the operating system).
However cool Bill Gates is, we all know he's rolling in it -- so is Jobs, for that matter, with a net worth of $4.4 billion.
