photoshop help: copying multiple layers

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/photoshop help: copying multiple layers

Hey, i'm using photoshop 7, and i'm trying to copy multiple layers, i selected using the shift key, but, i can only seem to copy one of those layers, when using duplicate layer option. Anyone know a way around this?

Just a thought, but have yoo tried grouping the Layers?

It might work...

Cheers

Garion

I can group the layers :o) But i need to copy that group of layers. It just doesn't seem to work :o(

Drag all of the layers you want to copy into a directory, then copy and paste the directory. Sorted! :)

Hehe, funny you should say that. Just was messing about and that's what i did. Thanks man :o)

Click on a first layer, hold left control/Shift then select all the other layer you want to copy. Now drag one of the selected layers onto the "Create a new layer" image/button. Voila!

That doesn't work in PS7 AFAIK, it does work in CS2.

Use layer sets and duplicate the set.

FYI,...Ctrl-J is the shortcut to duplicate a layer. I use it all the time.

To do a bunch of layers at a time I usually either drag to the "create new layer" icon, or create a folder of layers and duplicate that. Not sure about PS7 though,... it's been a while since I used that version, and that was before you could select multiple layers simultaneously like you can do in CS.

DOH! I used ps7 but couldn't remember whether it did or not. Sorry guys.
