TV/FM Tuner for MCE letterboxing on me...

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/TV/FM Tuner for MCE letterboxing on me...

This is getting me PO'ed up the wazoo. No matter how often I reinstall the Hauppauge drivers, no matter how often I run MCE Setup, the TV always letterboxes to the smallest, postage-stamp size screen, instead of filling up the 4:3 or 16:9 ratios like it's supposed to. Please help me get this TV Tuner back on its feet again. Here's a screenie of what I'm getting at:

I assume you have tried here:

Yeah, I also did the CD-ROM that came with it, too. I thought that MCE-based PCs could handle widescreens almost natively with DVI. After all, HDTV just started taking off when MCE 2005 was released, if I'm not mistaken.

woah. weird.
Well then. what mpeg decoder plugin are you using? perhaps you have the system loaded up with different decoders that want to do the same thing.

I dont have a tv decoder for my mce box yet but i built one for my dad and i know the codecs are a apin since the same ones i use wont work for tv decoding

if i were you i would eitehr cklean install the machine or uninstall all codecs and just install powerdvd/nvida purevideo or what ever mpeg 2 codec you wish to use.

Good luck! im very much looking forward to buy a tv decoder myself :)
