Hey, i just ran fraps to get a movie of something from my current project. But, up on exiting and right clicking on the movie file, it causes my monitor to turn off then go back on and display the right click menu for that file. Right clicking on any movie file causes this strange behavious.
All oither file types are unaffected. I've done a virus scan and restarted my computer. Even tried dropping down the graphics acceleration. No joy. Any ideas?
Are you saying that simply right-clicking on the file to bring up the context menu causes this, or do you mean it happens when you try and launch the file? Either way, it's pretty odd behaviour.
My recommendation:
- Carry your monitor upstairs (if it's not already there)
- Open a window
- Throw it out and enjoy the destruction! Woooo! Rock n roll man, rock n roll! \m/
lol, that's not a bad idea :o) I found the root of the problem. I was trying to capture/encode a movie to WMV format, and i exited it, because it had frozen up, using AIM one screen recorder. Ever since then, when ever i right click on a file, that OPENS with windows media player, the monitor swicthes off and switches back on, like it's trying to go into a different resolution or full screen mode. Strange.
Associating the file with Realplayer gets round the problem...
Hey, I had this.
right-clicking a video file would make my monitor flash. wierd.
How did you get rid of it?
