Looking for a great 2D Blitz game

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Looking for a great 2D Blitz game

Hello guys,

I'm looking for a great 2D game written in Blitz (not max and not plus), which could benefit of a 2D-in-3D system. I'd like to get the sourcecode for it to convert it to nSprite 2 and I'd send it back to the author with a full nSprite 2 license. It would basically be a showcase for nSprite 2 (just screenshots and executables, not the sourcecode) and also to compare performances. Just contact me here or by email.

Thanks a lot,

I remember JumpAround .. probably one of the only community projects which actually got finished!! Great wee game!

Probably not something which would push Gosse's system though.

What about the alien breed community project?

This is the latest thread I found for Jump Around:

This could be a good thing to turn into 2D-in-3D, I'll look into it, thanks.
As for Alien Breed, here's the latest thread I found:

However, all files and links are down.
I digged back a few threads and found this one with working links:

However, this seems like a pretty old version. If anyone has something newer (i.e.: from the 10th thread / Rob Farley), that would be terrific.

Try emailing Rob - he's bound to have all the shizzle (for both projects). Alien Breed was never finished though, was it?

Anyone?

I have the latest build of Jump Around on my website at:-

This version though I added things into, (I made it 4 player and segmented control systems, ie you don't have to use both mouse and keys anymore to move around)

Only bug was that if 1 player loses all their lives, everyone goes back to title screen :)

Well, I can recycle my old project as a tech demo, it'll take a while to bring it back. Just write your own game based off the engine, then you'll have something to play for a while.

Alien Breed was 3D last I checked.

I knew I had this lying around somewhere. It certainly seems to have some 3D bits in it (didn't look at the source yet, though), but since you asked about it, I'll post it up for a bit if you still want it.

I'm happy to be corrected, but I believe this is the latest version before it went away.

i kinda liked Anthony's 'play dough' stuff... or was that 3D...

his stuff had greatness written all over it...

@LineOf7s:
Where's the source? :(

But yes, it appears to be one of the latest version and it seems to already be 3D.

Oops.

As I was typing out "didn't look at the source yet, though", I thought to myself "hrmm... I didn't notice the source when I looked". Lo and behold, it's not there - to my surprise, given the open-source nature of the project.

Sorry about that.
