I`ve been using Thunderbird for ages but just recently every word I type is underlined in red just like when it has a spelling mistake. I am using version 1.5.0.4 does anyone have this problem or know what I may have done to cause it? All words are spelt correctly so this is not the problem.

I would guess your spell check is set to the wrong langauge
the default spell check dictionary is empty, you can train it by right clicking on the word and choosing add to dictionary.
Spell check is set to English\American, the default, so I`m sure thats not the problem. I`ve never had the problem before so I`m cannot see how the empty dictionary could be causing the problem either. How can it be empty if it is set to the former setting?
