Yes. Looks good. But we allready as you said have Cairo so it's not so important right now.
I thing the best for 2D vector graphics right now it's to get glitz surface running for cairo.

Well using another thing is hard, trying to wrap it is even harder so I'll dig into cairo more, but the CreaveDoc.NET powered by that is worthy a look, pretty powerful for making Poster.
