PSP - OS 2.71 downlaod games and demos...

Hi guys,

I missed this so I m telling you PSP owners incase you missed it too. Upgrade the OS to 2.71 and you can download games and demos to your PSP, via the browser or USB cable (connected to PC).

I just played the demo of LocoRoco - wow fabtastic little game, demo is about 10 mins long well worth the 7.8MB download.

There more then just the LocoRoco demo yet? That one's been out for awhile now...and I haven't seen any new demos since.

As much as I'd love to update, I'll be stuck with v2.60 for means of homebrew, until I manage purchasing a must-have game in the future that forces the update, at which point I will.

Quite a nice system I must say though, try before you buy, which is rare on the handheld system. Too bad the DS wont see such a thing till the Wii is out. ;/

Ive kept mine at 1.5. (for homebrew as well).
Can you point me in the direction of links/info so I can use 2.6 and Homebrew. Thanks

Check out the GTA eLoader, it requires the GTA:LibertyCityStories game though to work.
(that and that the game itself actually has to load up before the save-data exploit loads in to start the homebrew loader, a good 30sec of waitin there, that and the fact it doesn't ensure as good a compatibility as 1.50's trick does, nor run as fast in some cases.....just stick with 1.50 ;/ )

Also recall readin about something that allows you to play up to v2.50 games on 1.50, I'll find it when I get home later today.

I use 1.5 with a Firmware Loader- so i have firmware 2.5 installed on the memorycard, and I boot it from the games menu of firmware 1.5

Result? I can run any game below or equal to os 2.5 AND I can play sonic, mario, Mario 64, Golden Axe.... :)

Play homebrew? Head straight for "Games>Memory card>Whatever"

Play 2.5 games? Head straight for "Games>Memory Card>Firmware Loader" and it boots into the firmware and then the UMD :-D


Note: I'm waiting for the developer to allow 2.7 to boot from the loader- Something about encryption means it wont work :/
