Well he never released a license agreement of any kind for his engine and now he is AWOL...suprised? So if I can find the wrapper source code he sent me I will upload it for anyone to download. He ruined any chances he has with me ever showing him any respect and I encourage anyone else who wasted their money on his very poor services to do as I am and release the source code if you have it.
Any developer would respect the developer of the wrapper even if they didnt include a license and would not distribute the hard work of that developer but since I feel antony deserves no respect I could care less.
Don't distribute someones else work.
I'm suprised he hasn't even been to the forum over there to remove the spam posts and disgusting images. There's some really bad stuff posted on his forum.
Er!, don't know what else to say. Antony is antony. He loves to produce the next big thing (3D engine Wise) but doesn't seem to keep interest in it long enough to keep people happy.

There's something not entirely right about that Shinji Itashi character thats recently appeared with yet another 3D engine. Claims to be from Japan but I'd wager a rather large sum of money that he isn't from Japan at all. Probably lives in the same political consituency as the aforementioned Mr Wells, but who really knows for sure?
Other people are already thinking the same, so I'll say no more.
Hope everyone's on their guard this time. People like him completely destroy trust in the community and they should be banned for good.

Starting projects is easy. Finishing is hard. In fact I'd go so far as to say finishing is Everything. You are as good as your finished work.
In all the years I've been aware of this character he hasn't finished a thing.
I cant find the source code he gave me to the wrapper so scratch that idea. But honestly I could care less what he thinks or does I was nice enough to support Aurora with free webspace which was recieving a TON of hits and used alot of bandwidth, I took it down because he has been ignoring his customers and then just recently he said he was starting another engine called Raptor so you see if I did have the source to his wrapper I would release it even if it is his work. I have kept a very professional attitude towards this community for a very long time so I will keep that professionalism by not saying what I truely think about his "character".

I did not pay Antony for license just for someone else to give it away free.

But you have to understand that people are angry because they feel ripped off and want to hit back at the person who did it - I'm sure ckob's gripe lies with that person rather than other people who have suffered a similar fate, so let's not get nasty with each other about it eh?
You've got two choices, guys. You can get a refund from ShareIt, or you can write this off to experience and make damn sure everybody knows what this guy is like in future (actually you should do that last part anyway).

It has been mentioned on his forums about making the engine opensource though I doubt antony will do it out of pure greed but if Alienforce or any of the other users feel the same way maybe you should post it on his forums so that he doesnt release it open source. I did not pay for the engine it was giving to me in exchange for free hosting which I feel he got the better end of the deal on.

I didnt purchase Aurora, but i was planing to..why someone discrediting himself on such a bad way like Ant did?? I mean, peoples is ready to pay, thats obvious, so, why ? I was really supportive for Ant..now, really no more..after all i saw here..no more..

Face it guys, if you bought Anthony's product, you can't say "I thought he'd changed" because his past record is clear. He never finishes anything which goes beyond 100 lines of code. He flits from idea to idea. It's very old news, so I couldn't believe people bought into it again.
Anyway, ckob, don't distribute distribute anything you bought from him, bin it and move on.
Wait for the official 3D module.

If its nolonger supported, is it not now abbandonware? If so you as a community could continue development of it. I admit I dont know how viable this is but at least you would still have access to a developing 3d engine. (Im not sudjesting that you give it to anyone else, but surly there is nothing to stop you from passing it around each other)
I'm quite unhappy how the whole thing went.
I was planning to get the 3D module as well and offered to help where I was able to (for example I host the NetOptica demo or at least a mirror).
The module would have had quite some potential if it was taken further ... Sure it might be hard to take stuff further if you see that you can't make many sales in the short term ... But Software is something that tends to generate quite acceptable longterm income without much more hazzle afterwards anymore ... its sad he does not understand that.
Lets hope he is reading that and decides to reactivate the support for the module or at least decide to let it become communityopensource (sorry for those that already bought it) so it can at least get further with a broad support.
I think we all agree that a 3D system is needed and the available ones aren't that great (I've quite some problem with Irrlicht especially through the wrapper and B3D lacks too much atm that is needed for core 3D. Eliza seems the only really working one but sadly it breaks the general rule of english naming)

My original post, was on the lines of, Ant has broken his contract with the buyers of his engine due to dropping support for it. Hence he may not be in a position to sue/litigate any of them for subsequntly "Bending" the liecence. I used the word abbandonware, which was incorrect, and as John pointed out didnt have any actual existance. My reply was tounge in cheek, (and I admit I should have put a ;) or some such to make it clear that the subjestion that everyone waits 50years before they could pass it arround, was an attempt at humour.
At least I now know I shouldnt giveup my day job to go on the stage
edit. And reading GFKs post below, know 50 years wasnt even correct, So I now also know not to give up my day job to become a copyright solicitor (This is bad because all my other posts have shown I cannot giveup my job to become a games programer either)

Its 75 years and that pertains to Copyright. That isn't abandonware.
'Abandonware' is a generic term which relates to software released by a company but is no longer supported - generally because the company has gone bust. Normally possible to acquire such software gratis, but its still illegal to do so because the copyright remains, even though in reality there is nobody around to give a rat's ass about you doing it.

I don't know what the licence contains but if he's promised something that has not been delivered, then the best you're going to get is a refund.
If a large number of people who bought it go down that avenue, then you're certainly going to hurt his pocket at least, and that might be enough to stop this from happening again... although its pretty pathetic when your only friend is an Xbox 360...
he'll merely claim finanacial distress and file for banckruptcy... or claim insanity...
either way i doubt if you'll get anything in return, except for a good lesson learnt...
all of you were warned... all of you knew the expected outcome... all of you went into this with eyes wide shut...
this was a relatively inexpensive lesson... learn from it... and move on... smarter and wiser.

I've had a look at his Aurora forums, and he really really should shut them down!
Whoever posted that sort of stuff in his forum wants shooting, I mean, fair do's people have a gripe with Ant, but bloody hell, there's no need for that sort of stuff!
People may say Ant is 'trouble', but I prefer to be around people that are trouble than people that have minds as sick as the person(s) who posted on his forum!

If you want to use something like Aurora use SOW. In some areas its already passed Aurora. The camera picks have been taken further,
It has a more usefull GUI implementation with more gadget support.
Has Newton, which has been taken a little further than Ant did because CHris added custom functions that Ant couldn't be bothered with.
It's early days yet, and Chris closed the sourse when no one wanted to help him on it. But the Bmax side of things is free and looking promising indeed.

Agree and yes it's disturbing. I wasn't so much bothered about the image of you know who being posted but the sexual posts about abusing children were disturbing.
If I was ant I would grab the posters IP and ask BRL kindly to see if it belongs to anyone on here. If it does he can then name and shame them.

Well, I vote for SOW, I've played with it and it's damn fun and I do NOT want it dropped. Chris put the effort in and if the community takes a liking to it it stands to have a much brighter future.
Maybe if he names it after a porn star (Aurora/Vivid), he'd have more success?

I'm may to nudge my physics-based platforms game over to there, so if I do a decent job it will give Chris some much-needed attention. (This, of course, may depend on what happens with Aurora).
