Supporting Forums

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Supporting Forums

I know there are quite a few forums already but im a little confused as far as where to post certain items... perhaps they are not wanted on the Blitz Web site?

A. Graphics support requests and such... is there a forum for supporting developers looking for graphic artists/modelers etc? The showcase doesnt appear to me to be a location for requesting such things

B. Audio support requests and such?... same as above

Its been my experience that in order to make a great game one needs the assistance of others that have skills greater than ones own... for example, while I can create a 3d model and draw graphics and perhaps make sound effects I am by no means "artistic" at it... my strength is my coding... so it would be nice to have somewhere to encapsulate these requests/offers/etc... no?

How about the General Discussion forum or the section for your language of choice?

I wouldn't want any more sections. That's what you call a bloated forum, and they are impossible to navigate and use.
I hate them, and I'm sure other people do, too ;)

Perhaps some clarification in the descriptions of forum sections would help, though...

Definitely, but since ownership of a programming language is the requirement in order to post here, how many artists do you expect to find here?

All that would happen is you'd have a forum full of people - most of whom have never written a game and will probably never finish anything in their life - posting insane requests for teams of artists to join projects with no practical design and no realistic change of getting off the ground, let alone getting finished.

Which means they would inevitably be shot down in flames from the peanut gallery. Realistically, you can't often post sensible requests around here without getting someone who is jealous / in a bad mood / having his time of the month / bored / trying to make himself look clever posting something stupid.

Don't get me wrong, I totally agree with your premise and understand completely where you're coming from, but making a forum for it won't magically change the fact that there are very few people actually capable of replying to any such threads, nor will it change the mentality of those who like to bring the threads down.

IMO, you're better off checking the art/showcase-related forums for anyone posting something that looks pretty and contacting them privately for a discussion about your project.
