Eurogamer Sensible soccer 2006 demo

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Eurogamer Sensible soccer 2006 demo

This was such an old classic on the Amiga, and here's the new demo for the latest 3D version. Should be cool if they stuck to what made the original good :)

REquires bittorrent.

Cheers Evak,

I preorderd this for my old Ps2 a month ago ... due a week today ;) It was my favourite amiga game by a mile!! Looking forward to giving this demo a whirl.

This is probably the worst football game ever to bear the Sensible Soccer name.

Frustrating controls and terrible AI (I get a yellow card every time I get the ball off an Argie, yet he can take me down every time and get away with it), hideous to look at (I hate cel shading). I don't seem to be able to turn off slow motion replays that appear when something of apparent interest happens.

The keyboard config is all over the place, sometimes have to press ENTER to proceed, sometimes SPACE, sometimes ESCAPE, sometimes Z or X. FFS!

Oh, and the game politely informed me that it had changed all my graphics card settings for "optimal performance" - WTF?! It didn't even ask - it just did it. I don't know what its changed.

First time I installed it, it wouldn't run cos of something to do with a DirectX DLL. So I reinstalled and when it asked if I wanted to check (important word, that) for the right version of DX, I clicked yes instead of no. It then proceeded to "update" DirectX - again it didn't ask, didn't tell me it'd checked, didn't say if I'd got the right or wrong version (its 9.0c) - it just went ahead regardless and said it was "updating DirectX"!

Awful, afwul game with a cruddy installer which assumes anyone using it has the technical aptitude of a baked bean.

Its gone from my system now.

(I got through this whole Barry Norman/Simon Cowell-esque review without using the word "bastardisation". Amazing).

It doesn't sound very sensible.

Just tried it for 1 min. and deinstalled it.

Blew... what a piece of junk!

I want my Amiga back!
